Sara Pulley Underwood, 85, of Quitman MS, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2018. She was born April 27, 1932, in Stonewall, MS, to the late Benjamin Elijah Pulley and her mother, Stella Geneva Pulley. She was preceded in death by her husband William R. (Billy) Underwood, Jr.
She is survived by her three children, Richard Underwood (Kim) of Germantown, TN; Tom Underwood (Lora) of Tulsa, OK; and Darla McCree (Brett) of Enterprise, MS; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; also her stepson, David Underwood (Vicki) of Oakland, CA.
She spent most of her life in Clarke County before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio with her family in the late 1960s. While in Ohio, she went to night classes and obtained her real estate license. Soon she was one of the top real estate sales people in the region and won many honors and accolades for her abilities. When her family moved back to Clarke County, she sold insurance until she retired.
Sara was known for her kindness and generosity to all. She always had a smile on her face and was gracious to everyone she came in contact with. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and associates. Treasured memories of life experiences with her will live in our hearts for eternity.
Family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Quitman. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Chapel at Wrights Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Clea Berry, Brian Underwood, Brock Underwood, Michael Alexander, Alec Underwood and Max Underwood.
