Rodney Jeffery Ivy

Rodney Jeffery Ivy, 78, of Quitman, MS passed away on May 6, 2017, at his residence.  
He was born on September 11, 1938 to T.J. and Eunice (Wilson) Ivy in Clarke County, MS.
He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Quitman, where he taught Sunday School and was a member of the Sanctuary Choir, Mature Notes Choir and J.O.Y.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Kay B. Ivy; son, David (Debbie) Ivy; daughter, Rhonda (Jerry) Lewis; sister, Linda McCallister; four grandchildren, Carroll (Seth) Lee, Matthew (Blakely) Lewis, Adrienne Ivy (Sean Nonemacher), and Tyler Ivy (LeeAnn Rogers); three great-grandchildren, Hayeslynn Lee, Phoenix Nonemacher, and  Kennedy Lewis; cousin, Sandra (Harry) Peterson; nephews, John D. McCallister, Tommy Burrow, Jimmy Burrow, Rusty Burrow, and Mike Burrow; special friends, Colby Evans, Ryan Evans, Mike Evans, Sheri Smith, and Barbara Manasco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. Ivy and Eunice Ivy.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2017, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2:00 pm at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Gene Neal, officiating. Burial will take place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Travis Peden, James Morgan, Fred Blackledge, Dwight Bennett, Mike Evans, and Ryan Evans.
