Melissa Michelle Maxheimer, 50, a resident of Pontotoc, MS, passed away April 6, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2018, from 10 a.m. until services at 11:30 a.m. at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church in Summit, MS. Rev. Gregg Smith will officiate and burial will be in the Johnston Chapel church cemetery.
Melissa (Missy) was born September 14, 1967, in Laurel, MS, to James A. and Jane Scott Roberts.
She was a 1985 graduate of Quitman High School and Hatfield’s School of Cosmetology in Laurel. She was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong woman who loved her husband and family dearly. Melissa enjoyed crocheting, cooking, couponing, watching episodes of Law and Order SVU and most of all being a Mimi to her six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. James A. Roberts of Summit; paternal grandfather, Lloyd T. Roberts of Summit; maternal grandparents, Andrew and Lauren Phillips Scott of Laurel.
She is survived by her husband, David Maxheimer; daughters, Emily (Jorge) Granada of New Albany; Meaghan (Michael) Hubbard of Bluefield, VA; grandchildren, Landon, Masen, Kinslie, Marleei, Skylen and Rance; mother, Jane Scott Roberts of Summit; sisters, Robin Roberts of Summit; Cindy (Jimmy) Kirkman of Quitman and brother, Scott (Deva) Roberts of Clinton; grandmother, Zelma Pope Roberts of Summit; and nephews, Wade Baxley, Champagne and C.J. Lewis; nieces, Kaya and Bella Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Jorge Granada, Jimmy Kirkman, John Roberts, III; Nick Farmer, Tim Roberts.
