Mack David Lucas

Mack David Lucas, 65, of Quitman, passed away on January 14, 2018 at his residence.  He was born on April 23, 1952 to Mack and Nettie (Roberts) Lucas in Clarke County, MS.

Mack led a full and rewarding life despite becoming paralyzed at a young age due to a diving accident.  His strength and perseverance were inspirational to all who knew him.  A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, he had a rewarding career working with the State of Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation.  After retirement, he returned home to Quitman.  He will be missed dearly by his family.

Mack is survived by his brothers, Robert T. Lucas, John B. Lucas, and Timothy Lucas; sisters, Shelby Whitfield, Cherry Lucas, and Patsy Brock; nieces, Kim (Jimmy) Carter, Johni (Chad) Daniels, Karen (Brian) Davidson, Maggie (Phillip) Robinson, and Michelle Williams; Great-Nieces and Nephews, Tyler Carter, Addison Daniels, Bayley Davidson, Brennon Davidson, Forrest Robinson, Ledger Robinson, and McKenzie Williams.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, 2:00 pm at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery (Melvin, AL), with Rev. Jessie Griffith officiating.
