David L. Grayson

David L. Grayson, 85, of Quitman, passed away on September 9, 2018 at Anderson's Hospital.

He was born on May 8, 1933 to Roshier and Gladys (Wright) Grayson in Carmichael, MS. He joined the Air Force when he was 17 and served over 20 years for our country.  He retired Master Sergeant.  He did 9 tours of duty.  He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and was actively involved in every funeral ceremony.  He was a very devoted husband, father and friend to all he knew.  He was a member of Hebron Ridge Baptist Church and loved his church family.

David is survived by his sons, Gary Grayson, Michael Grayson, Kevin (Bing) Grayson, and Keith Grayson; daughters, Melissa (Willie) Hiatt and Cheryl Grayson and their mother, Maureen Grayson; sister, Mary Alice Whittington; step-sons, Steve Perry and Eddie (Stephanie) Perry; 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Grayson; sons, Jack Belton Grayson and David Wyatt Grayson; step-sons, Mike Perry and Ray Perry; parents, Roshier and Gladys Grayson; brother, Roy Eugene Grayson and sister, Mildred Neely.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018, 9:00 am - 11:30 am at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018, 11:30 am at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Charles Albrooks and Rev. Mac Lochala officiating.

Burial will take place in the Hebron Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Grayson, Josh Bankston, Justin Bush, J. D. Grayson, Dillon Grayson, and Jacob Grayson.
