ZHHS Class of 1965 to hold reunion

An invitation to all 1965 ZHHS class graduates to gather for an “in-between-times” class reunion on May 4-5, 2018, at Joe McRee’s farm south of Quitman.  Kudos to Dutch Dabbs for coming up with the idea, Joe McRee for offering to host our event, and Walter and Temple Couch for bringing it all together!

This reunion will be a casual affair with no program, just plenty of time to visit with friends. So, bring your happy face, a lawn chair, and what you plan to drink. The menu is simple: hamburgers and hotdogs with trimmings on Friday; brunch food on Saturday. We will need volunteers to bring appetizers, salads and desserts for Friday; egg casseroles, muffins and fruit for Saturday. Paper products will be provided.

Joe and Annie have plenty of seating to dine inside their house, and one table outside. If anyone has a patio or picnic table they can bring, it will help; and a cornhole game, horseshoes, cards, etc., will provide a little fun and exercise. Dress casually (jeans and sneakers anyone?) and plan to stay awhile. If you’re traveling and have an RV, you can park on Joe’s property (hook-ups provided) and join us for two days of reminiscing and old-fashioned fun.

Friday: Gather at the farm after lunch, 1:00 – 2:00 PM, and we’ll get everything set up; Joe will be manning the grill later in the afternoon.

Saturday: Brunch type food served around noon. If we want something special in the afternoon, pizzas from Mimmos should fill the bill. Let’s keep it simple – no hard work for anyone – just a relaxed day.

Joe’s farm is located just off the Gappy’s Fish Camp road. If you’re coming from HWY 45, travel past Gappy’s, over the bridge, and turn right onto County Road 695. There will be signs to direct you. I’ll send out another letter closer to time.

Please RSVP to one of the following: Sue Parker – 601-527-3220, Carole Sykes – 601-616-2890, Patty Combest - 601-938-4758, Bobbie T. Martin - 601-927-4455, Walter Couch - 281-732-3397, Joe McRee – 228-219-5555.
