Clarke County Standing Together Against Cancer set for May 5th

Mark your calendars because you will not want to miss the Clarke County Standing against Cancer event. The May 5th event will be held at Archusa Water Park from 11 am. until 3 p.m.

The carnival themed fundraiser will offer a wide variety of food vendors and activities for the kids.

The event will honor all cancer survivors with a breakfast from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m.

This year's fundraiser will also be selling Mylar balloons in honor or in memory of someone. The balloons will take the place of the traditional luminaries and torches.

Balloons are $10 each. Entertainment will be provided throughout the event.

The United Blood Service will also be on site with a blood drive from 11 - 2:30.

Faith Assembly of God Boston butt sale; $28 delivered May 2nd

Team Janna/Eden-pony rides, snowballs, and face painting

Quitman UMC- Sweets. Corn hole toss and popcorn.

First State Bank- Bumpers Sweet Tea and Worlds Finest Chocolate

Buns and Burgers Circus- hamburgers

Faith Assembly of God Church- strawberry shortcake, Gaga pit

T.I.E.-Fried Oreos and funnel cakes. Raffling for a 6 foot storage bench

Langston Helping Hands- nachos (chili cheese), hot dogs (chili cheese)

CCSAC committee member extend a special invitation to cancer survivors and family members.

Committee members decided this year to go in a different direction with the annual cancer fundraiser and are no longer participating in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Clarke County Standing against Cancer will be donating all money to Andersons Cancer Benevolence Fund, which helps cancer patients locally.
