JROTC receives Commander's award

Derrion Shaw, Boneisha Gordon, Heavin McCrae, Ashati Pruitt, Dominic Johnson, Davia Laphand, Christasia Mitchell, and Victoria Connor represented Quitman High School JROTC at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, MS during the first week of June. It was the Junior Challenge Leadership Course. Once the cadets arrived, they were no longer under the leadership and guidance of First Sergeant Nance. They were among 475 cadets from three different states. Each day they were challenged in different leadership roles. No matter what grade level they were in, they were expected to accept and excel at the challenge. All of the Panther Cadets received the Commander’s Award for Leadership Excellence.
