Ruth Elizabeth Dew Fleming

Ruth Elizabeth Dew Fleming, 78, of Shubuta, Mississippi passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman, Mississippi. She was born November 12, 1938 in Clarke County, Mississippi to Samuel Monroe Dew and Lizzie Mae Baker Dew.

Ruth was blessed with a large and loving family. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Van Downey Fleming of Shubuta, MS; son Richard Michael Fleming of Corona, CA and wife Dorothy Mary Fleming; daughter Rhonda Kay Fleming of Meridian, MS; grandchildren Jennifer Camille Zachary, Brian Richard Fleming and wife Briana Elizabeth Querin Fleming, Teresa Elizabeth Fleming and Stephanie Anne Fleming; great grandchildren Owen Michael Fleming, Blake Jeffery Fleming and Austin Van Fleming.

She worked as LPN at Lakeside Health and Rehabilitation Center and Quitman Hospital.  Her vibrant personality was hallmarked by being young at heart, a keen sense of humor, and filled with funny stories. Ruth set an example of what it truly looks like to give ones talents, resources, heart, mind and strength to see the Kingdom of God advanced on Earth. Ruth’s love for family, friends, church and animals was unconditional. She enjoyed her ministry and baking cakes.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church in Harmony, MS. Rev. Larry Browning and Rev.
